Sam Witwicky is a young man lacking confidence, coordination, and charisma, who nonetheless is good at tactics, and not a terrible fighter. He understands Decepticons and Autobots as few other humans do, often figuring out what is going on when others do not. He also, despite much personal fear, somehow ends up acting brave, more of the time than even he would believe.
